Brother Industries began in 1908 when the company was called the Yasui Sewing Machine Company was founded but in 1954, the Brother International Corporation was started as the company’s first overseas affiliate. In 1962, the corporation name was changed to Brothers Industries LTD and they began manufacturing printers soon after. They have a long line of products such as printers, fax machines, label makers and sewing machines and typewriters. Yes, they still make typewriters, hard to believe.
The Brother Hl-2040 is a Monochrome laser printer. It has Black and White prints at 20 pages per minute. The maximum black and white dpi is 2400 x 600. The tray capacity is 250 pages the downside to this printer is that the number of page sit can printer per minute is a little low. The Brother MFC-8860 DN, this printer has a full featured fax abilities and a laser printer that can print up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. The color dpi is 19200 x 19200 and it has a color flatbed scanner.
You can print up to 30 pages per minute and it can print reduced copy from 25 percent to 400 percent. You can send or receives faxes right form your computer to the laser printer. You can also network the printers if you like. It works great with Windows or Mac. Bother has a full line of printers that are too numerous to list them all.
